01 · Start here

Five minutes from sign-in to your first shared workout.

MoveShare works best when your health app records the workout and MoveShare handles the sharing, goals, and encouragement.

  1. 1

Create your account with Apple or Google and finish your profile.

  2. 2

    Connect your health app

Review MoveShare's health-data disclosure and agree to it, then allow workout access in Apple Health on iPhone. Health Connect on Android is coming soon and is not available yet. You can withdraw that consent later in Settings.

  3. 3

    Set up Smart Sync

Choose which recorded workouts MoveShare can automatically store and share.

  4. 4

    Add people you know

Find friends by name or email and send a request.

  5. 5

    Pick a goal

Create a personal goal, set a goal with a friend, or join a group goal.

The simple version

Record your workout as usual. MoveShare brings it in, counts it toward matching goals, and lets your friends cheer you on.

02 · Health connection

Your health app is the trusted source for your workouts.

MoveShare does not need you to start and stop a second workout. On iPhone, it reads workouts already saved by Apple Health (Health Connect on Android is coming soon), after you agree to MoveShare’s health-data consent and allow workout access on your phone.

●
iPhone

Apple Health

Agree to the health-data consent, then allow MoveShare to read workout data from Apple Health. Workouts recorded by Apple Watch and compatible fitness apps can then appear in MoveShare.

Android

Health Connect (Android coming soon)

MoveShare for Android is not available yet. When it launches, you will agree to the health-data consent and allow MoveShare to read workouts from Health Connect, so workouts saved there by compatible watches and fitness apps can sync to MoveShare.

Why is the connection necessary?

MoveShare needs workout type, time, duration, calories, and distance when available to show activity and calculate goal progress. Access is read-only: MoveShare reads the workouts you permit, not unrelated health information. You can change device access in your phone's health settings at any time. Separately, Settings › Health data lets you withdraw MoveShare's health-data consent, which stops syncing and permanently deletes the health workouts MoveShare imported. Withdrawal also clears your goal and streak history in full, including progress earned from manually entered workouts, so it is worth reading the summary on that screen before confirming.

If a connection needs attention: open Activity and use the reconnect message, check that your health-data consent is still active under Settings › Health data, and check that workout permission is still enabled in Apple Health or Health Connect.

03 · Smart Sync

Automate the sharing you want. Keep control of the rest.

MoveShare securely checks new health-workout details against your Smart Sync rules. Matching workouts are stored and shared automatically; everything else is not stored or shared unless you choose to publish it.

Duration

Set a minimum workout length, from no minimum up to 60 minutes.

Calories

Choose the minimum calories a workout must include before it auto-publishes.

Workout types

Include all types, choose only some, or exclude the ones you do not want to auto-share.

Smart Sync on

Matching workouts flow automatically

MoveShare prevents duplicates and syncs eligible workouts when the app refreshes. Your accepted friends can see workouts that are published.

Smart Sync off

Nothing auto-publishes

Your health workout remains in its source. You can still review your activity and manually publish an available workout when you want to share it.

04 · Activity and feed

One place for your progress. Another for the people around you.

The Activity tab is your personal training view. The Feed is the shared stream of workouts from accepted friends.

Activity

  • See a four-week workout calendar
  • See weekly calories, distance, duration, and workout count
  • Open Pro metric trends across day, week, month, six-month, and one-year ranges
  • Check recent workouts and their sync status
  • Track your current personal goal

Feed

  • See friends’ newest published workouts first
  • Open a workout for distance, duration, calories, and time
  • Give kudos and a quick encouraging message
  • Pull to refresh when you want the latest activity
  • Tap linked goals when a workout contributes to one you share

05 · Friends and kudos

MoveShare is a private circle, not a public scoreboard.

Search for someone by name or email, send a request, and connect once they accept. Only accepted friends can see each other’s shared workouts.

Build your circle

  1. 1. Open your profile menu and choose Friends.
  2. 2. Search by name or email.
  3. 3. Send a friend request.
  4. 4. After acceptance, you can share workouts and invite each other to goals.

Kudos do more than say “nice work”

Give kudos to three different eligible friend workouts in the same reward week and you earn the weekly Support Bonus: +1 Freeze progress.

Weekly support2 of 3 kudos

Each workout counts once. The three workouts may belong to the same friend. You can earn one Support Bonus per Monday-to-Monday UTC week.

06 · Goals

Turn a target into a rhythm you can repeat.

Goals run in weekly cycles. Pick what counts, set a target, and watch matching health workouts add progress automatically.

Personal

A goal for you

Create one active or pending personal goal at a time. This stays available on the free plan.

1V1

You and one friend

Set a goal with a friend, follow each other's progress, and send one nudge per day.

Group

Up to 10 people

Invite up to nine friends to join you. Creating group goals requires Pro; joining one does not.

How to create one

Open Goals and tap New Goal.

The guided setup shows a review before anything is created.

    Personal, 1V1, or Group

  2. 02

    Choose people

  6. 06

Confirm the details and send invitations

Distance goals need a distance-based workout type. For example, running or cycling. Title and target changes take effect from the next cycle so the current week stays fair.

07 · Streaks and Freezes

Consistency builds the streak. Freezes protect the story.

Complete each goal cycle to grow that goal’s streak. Streak Freezes are account-wide, private, and never expire—and there is no limit to how many you can keep.

When a goal is missed

  • If you have enough Freezes for every eligible miss that week, MoveShare uses them automatically.
  • If you have fewer Freezes than misses, a Weekly Goal Review asks which streaks you want to save.
  • You can select none, some, or as many as your inventory covers. Unused Freezes stay with you.

Weekly Goal Review

You have 72 hours to choose. If time runs out, available Freezes protect unresolved goals by current streak, then longest lifetime streak. Remaining misses enter recovery.

72h

to choose

Recovery: a missed streak gets a chance to restart with a target 10% higher in the cycle already underway. Workouts recorded since Monday already count.

08 · Inbox and notifications

Stay in the loop without living in the app.

The Inbox is the reliable home for MoveShare updates. Push notifications are optional, but turning them on helps you respond while invites and weekly choices are still timely.

What you can hear about

  • Friend requests and accepted requests
  • Kudos and newly shared workouts
  • Goal invitations, starts, results, and changes
  • 1V1 nudges and member updates
  • Recovery offers and Weekly Goal Reviews

Tap straight to the action

Notifications open the relevant workout, goal, or review. The Inbox tab badge shows unread updates, and the Goals tab shows weekly misses waiting for your Freeze choice.

If pushes stop arriving, check notification permission in your phone settings. Your in-app Inbox still keeps the updates.

09 · Profile and settings

Your people, preferences, and account controls live here.

Open the profile menu to manage your identity and friends. Open Settings to tune syncing, notifications, and your subscription.

Profile

  • Update your profile photo
  • View and manage friends
  • Handle incoming and outgoing requests

Settings

  • Change Smart Sync rules
  • Review app preferences
  • Sign out or delete your account

Subscription

  • Upgrade to MoveShare Pro
  • Restore an existing purchase
  • Refresh your Pro status

Streak Freezes are shown on your profile. The card shows your inventory, progress toward the next Freeze, and weekly Support Bonus progress. These resources are private to you.

10 · Free and Pro

The social core is free. Pro expands creation and insight.

You do not need Pro to connect with friends, share workouts, give kudos, join invited goals, or build a personal streak.

11 · Privacy and control

Your activity is for your circle—not the whole internet.

MoveShare is built around accepted friendships and deliberate workout sharing. There is no public workout feed or public leaderboard.

Friends-only sharing

Only accepted friends can see workouts you publish. A pending request does not grant access.

You control access

Choose health permissions, change Smart Sync rules, manually publish when you prefer, remove access from your phone settings, and withdraw health-data consent in MoveShare to delete the workouts it imported along with your goal and streak history.

Private rewards

Your Freeze inventory, Freeze progress, weekly support progress, and review choices are visible only to you.

Goal context

Goal participants can see the progress and events needed for that shared goal. Your account-wide reward resources stay private.

12 · Quick help

When something does not look right, start here.

Most issues come from a permission that changed, a workout that does not match a rule, or a refresh that has not completed yet.

A workout is missing+

Open Activity and refresh. Check that your health-data consent is active under Settings › Health data, that the workout appears in Apple Health or Health Connect, that workout access is allowed, and that it matches your Smart Sync rules.

A workout did not count toward a goal+

Check the cycle dates, goal measure, and workout-type filter. Only matching workouts recorded inside the cycle count.

I cannot see a friend’s workout+

You must both be accepted friends, and the workout must be published. Ask them to check Smart Sync or publish it manually.

My push notification did not arrive+

Check notification permission in phone settings, then look in the MoveShare Inbox. In-app notifications remain available even when push is off.

My Pro access is missing+

Open Settings and choose Restore purchase or refresh your subscription status. Make sure the store account matches the one used to subscribe.
